Silverzone International Olympiad of Mathematics (IOM) Previous Year Question Paper

Structure of the Olympiad 

The IOM examinations are conducted over three levels by the Silverzone Foundation. Students have to clear the first level to then progress onto the next and so on.

• In the level 1 examination, all the students from classes 1st to 12th classes are eligible to apply for exams. 

• The students who manage to qualify for the first round are eligible to sit for the next level. Apart from this, the top rank holders in every class from all the schools participating are also eligible to apply for the examination, provided they attain a minimum of 75 per cent.

• The students who qualify in the 2nd level from class 6th to 12th are qualified to appear for the 3rd level, which is held in New Delhi, India. 

IOM Highlights 

• The IOM examination is held on two days, every year. For the first two levels, the students' schools remain the venue while for the 3rd level, the student has to give the exam in New Delhi.

• The schools that participate are given the option to choose any two dates given by the Silverzone Foundation. The school can consider their convenience while deciding the dates. 

• The questions paper set will vary for every class for each day. 

• All the schools that participate in the olympiad will be given the dates for the final exams in advance. 

All candidates must prepare according to the format of the previous year paper for the upcoming examination. Also, students should know that the previous year’s paper might be the difference between a student scoring average marks and a student securing well marks.

In addition, solving these papers, students must expect their marks to be lower than expected for a clearer vision about scoring in a real exam.

Uses of Practicing Previous Year’s Question Papers.

The sample papers and the previous year’s question papers can be easily downloaded from Vedantu’s website. 

• These papers will give the aspirants exposure to the type of questions that appear in the examination. The familiarity with the question paper pattern will help the student in gaining confidence and answering the questions with ease. 

• Students will be exposed to new ways of solving the question with the practice of the previous year’s question papers. It will also improve and polish the skills of the students through consistent practice and dedication towards the subject.

• The sample question papers are subject-specific, thereby leading the candidates to understand the concepts and the important ideas in a new and broadened spectrum.

These are the steps that the candidate needs to follow to download the previous year’s sample question papers:

• First and foremost, the student needs to visit the official website. 

• After opening the site, the student needs to click on the option that says ‘olympiad’ 

• The olympiad dropbox presents the student with the option “ International Olympiad of Mathematics (IOM)”. This is the column that the student needs to click. 

• On the left side of the page, the student will find all the details pertaining to the olympiad, under which the column “Syllabus and sample question papers'' will appear.

• These papers are available in pdf format, which the student can download and access offline or print.

• It is to be noted that the student has to prepare for the examination based on the pattern in which the practice papers are designed. This will help them familiarize themselves with the question paper pattern.
