What are Fractions as given in the RS Aggarwal Solutions?

RS Aggarwal Class 6 Chapter 5 aims to teach students about different types of fractions such as proper fraction, improper fraction, how to represent fraction on a number line, simplest form of fraction and an equivalent fraction.

A fraction is basically a part of a whole and can be denoted as p/q, where p represents numerator and q represents denominator. q tells how many total equal parts it is divided into and p shows how many parts are being considered. That whole can either be a single number or group of numbers where the parts have to be equal. Also, a fraction is said to be in the simplest form if the numerator and denominator have no common factor except for 1.

We will also study improper fractions and how to identify them and convert them to mixed fractions and how to convert mixed fraction into improper fraction. You will also learn about addition and subtraction of like fraction and unlike fraction, Multiplication of fractions, division of fractions.
