NDA is the National Defence Academy Examination which is conducted at a national level by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Through this exam, students are selected for Army, Navy, and Air Force Wings of NDA and INAC (Indian Naval Academy Course).


This is the NDA 2 Question Paper of Maths and General Ability Test of the year 2015. The exam is conducted in Two Languages: English and Hindi and is also conducted twice a year: NDA 1 and NDA 2. After students give the exam, a calendar is released by the UPSC and the shortlisted candidates have to appear for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview. The duration of the paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. In the booklet, you will find all the instructions that need to be followed during the exam and while attending the paper.

The Syllabus For General Ability Test Is As Follows:

Part A: English: 200 Marks

This test is to determine the candidate’s proficiency in English. It will cover a bunch of aspects like Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, and Understanding of the English language. Part A is of 200 marks and this part tests students’ knowledge in the subject of English Literature as well as their usage of grammar.


Part B: General Knowledge

In Part B, the candidate is tested in his/her knowledge of the following subjects: General Science, Chemistry, Physics, Social studies, and Current events. The Sections are divided as follows:

2. What is the eligibility criteria for giving the NDA Exam?

The minimum educational qualification required from the student appearing for NDA Exam is after passing their 12th Board Examinations. Mathematics is a required subject for the students in their 12th Board to apply for Naval and Air Force Wings of NDA. There are no minimum percentage criteria to sit for the NDA Exam. Only unmarried male or female candidates can apply for the exam. Students are advised to make sure to read the requirements of the examination well before applying for the exam.

3. What is the Age Limit criteria for giving the NDA Exam?

For the NDA 1 Exam, candidates should be born after July 2, 2001, and not later than July 1, 2004. For the NDA 2 Exam, candidates should be born after January 2, 2002, and not later than January 1, 2005. After the declaration of the results, students have to submit these certificates. There is a relaxation of the age limit for the candidates belonging to reserved categories. 

4. Can girls appear for the NDA Exam?

For the first time ever in 2021, the Supreme court has asked the Centre to allow girls candidates to appear for the NDA Exam. This has been a huge thing that has happened regarding the NDA exam.
