The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) organises many competitions for the school students and the top scorers are also awarded scholarships and medals. The IGKO exams 2024-25 conducted are on various subjects like Mathematics, English, Commerce and Social Studies, among others the IGKO 2024-25, which stands for International General Knowledge Olympiad, is the most popular one. 


The exam is attended by the school students from grades 1-10 and the exam paper is divided into 4 major sections that are General Awareness, Current Affairs, Life Skills and the Achievers Section which includes high-order thinking questions from all the aforementioned sections. The syllabus for each section differs for students in grades 1-4 and the students in grades 5-10.

IGKO Syllabus for Class 1 to 10 - Details

In order to score well, one needs to start preparing for the International General Knowledge Olympiad by being aware of the syllabus, different sections and the topics included in it. 


The International General Knowledge Olympiad syllabus 2024-25 is designed as per the current syllabus of classes 1 to 10. The questions framed in the IGKO exam are conceptually based on high-level difficulty. The Science Olympiad 2024-25 Foundation releases IGKO study materials and IGKO workbook for students to do advanced preparation along with the SOF International General Knowledge Olympiad sample papers 2024-25. Students who are appearing for the IGKO exam should have detailed knowledge about every topic to achieve a good score. They should have a clear idea about the syllabus, the IGKO exam pattern 2024-25, important topics, and current affairs.


The syllabus of the International General Knowledge Olympiad comprises four sections for classes 1 to 10. Section 1 contains General Awareness (topics based on important facts around the world), section 2 contains Current Affairs (questions from recent events), section 3 contains Life Skills (topics based on abilities for managing and living a better quality of life), and section 4 contains Achievers Section (Higher order thinking skills questions).
