What is INChO?

InChO, Indian National Chemistry Olympiad, is conducted each year by the Indian Association of Chemistry Teachers (IACT). This is a competitive examination, where people across the country come together and showcase their knowledge on the subject of Chemistry. Every year in the month of January-February the exam is conducted.

Students of Class 11 and 12, keeping all other eligibility criteria in mind, participate in this competition. Students represent their country in the international level exam. Hence, their win destines national pride. From India as well, we have gold medalists and top rankers who represented us at the international forefront. Students participating in this exam display their calibre in the field of Chemistry and if they excel in the exams, they gain international recognition.

Syllabus for InChO

Knowing the syllabus, before starting your preparation, is of utmost importance. Students can genuinely focus on the preparation, once they are aware of the syllabus. The syllabus helps in understanding the topics that are required to be covered. Thus the students prepare accordingly to the syllabus based on which they later appear in the exam. Students are suggested to check our site, Vedantu for all the latest updates of the syllabus for their next term.

In 2024-25, the syllabus of InChO is the same as the previous year. The students can initially refer to this for their further exam preparation.

For appearing in InChO, the students should be an expert in the field of Chemistry. To gain expertise and in-depth knowledge, they need to start right from the basics of Class 7 to Class 10. The syllabus of InChO is designed in accordance with the latest CBSE syllabus. Hence, one must have a good grasp on their school study books of Class 11 and 12 including the NCERT to strengthen the basics.

FAQs on InCho Syllabus 2024-25

1. Does InChO Only Concentrate on the Subject of Chemistry?

Ans: Yes, InChO only focuses on the field of Chemistry. Well, there are many other Olympiads for different subjects, but InChO is dedicated only to Chemistry. Students from various countries participate in this competitive exam and showcase their knowledge in this field. In order to gain worldwide recognition in Chemistry, students attempt to give this exam. Therefore, students who are experts in the field of Chemistry should not lose this opportunity to participate in the InChO exam as it is beneficial for them in a lot of ways.

2. What is the Function of IACT?

Ans: The Indian Association of Chemistry Teachers abbreviated as IACT is now known as the Association of Chemistry Teachers shorted as ACT. This is a body that coordinates and organizes the Chemistry Olympiad for India along with HBCSE. The idea behind the formulation of this association was put forward by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education headquartered in Mumbai. The association aims to encourage the scientific talents of students across the country who are experts in the field of chemistry.

3. Where Can We Get the Updated InChO Syllabus For The Next Term?

Ans: Students can check the official website to get the updated syllabus. Also, in Vedantu, we draft the complete syllabus of the InChO exam to guide the students well. The syllabus and all the other study material and information regarding the exam are regularly updated on the Vedantu website so that the students do not waste their time searching for valuable information.
