Chapters Covered in CBSE Class 9 Maths NCERT Books

Math is required if you wish to succeed in science. You may have heard this adage before, but the idea behind it has lasted the test of time. Math has influenced other key sciences such as physics and chemistry by bringing innovative ideas. It is the language of logic, and learning it thoroughly can help you improve your problem-solving skills and master the art of abstract thinking.


Chapter 1: Number System

Students will learn about the idea of an irrational number, real numbers, and their decimal expansions in this chapter. They will also learn about real number procedures on the number line, various types of operations on real numbers, and exponent rules for real numbers. There are seven exercises present in this chapter; do the activities, answer the questions, and consult our book if you have any questions. Chapter 2: Polynomial

An algebraic expression polynomial is a form of algebraic expression. You learned factorization of algebraic expressions in earlier classes; now, use those principles and learn some new ones when solving polynomials. Students will learn about polynomials in one variable, polynomial zeros, the remainder theorem, factorization of polynomials, and algebraic identities in this lesson. Chapter 3: Coordinate Geometry

You learned about the placement of a point on a line in previous classes. Now, in this chapter, you'll learn how to find a point that isn't on that line but is somewhere else. In this chapter, students will learn about the Cartesian system, which allows them to map a point in the plane given its coordinates. Make yourself aware of the X and Y axes and use a graph to plot a point. This chapter has five exercises as well as a synopsis.


Chapter 4: Linear Equations and Two variables

You learned about linear equations in one variable in earlier sessions, and now it's time to learn about linear equations in two variables. Students will learn what a linear equation is, how to solve linear equations, how to graph linear equations in two variables, and how to solve equations of lines parallel to the x-axis and y-axis in this chapter. There are 5 exercises in total, including the summary exercise, like the previous chapters. Chapter 5: Introduction to Euclid’s Geometry

Euclid's definition, axioms, and postulates, which are equivalent versions of Euclid's fifth postulate, will be covered here. This chapter contains a theorem stating that two separate lines cannot have more than one common point. Solve the problems and learn about Euclid's postulates to better understand the chapter. Chapter 6: Lines and Angles

In Chapter 6, students learned that a line must have at least two points to be drawn, as well as other axioms. This chapter now teaches pupils the fundamental words and definitions of line and angle. Intersecting and non-intersecting lines, pairs of angles, transversal and parallel lines, lines parallel to the same line, and the angle sum property of a triangle will be taught to students in this chapter. Chapter 7: Triangles

You learned about triangles and their characteristics in prior classes, and you comprehended certain triangle properties in Chapter 6. In this chapter, students will study triangle congruence, criteria for triangle congruence, triangle characteristics, and triangle inequalities. Chapter 8: Quadrilaterals

Students learned about triangles with three angles in earlier chapters. Add another angle to the figure and watch what happens. There are four angles in a quadrilateral. Students will study quadrilaterals' angle sum property, several types of quadrilaterals, parallelogram attributes, and circumstances that constitute a quadrilateral parallelogram. Chapter 9: Areas of Parallelogram and Triangles

Students will study figures that have the same basis and are parallel to the same parallels, parallelograms on the same base and parallels, and triangles on the same base and parallels in this chapter. Chapter 10: Circles

The angle of a chord at a point, perpendicular from the centre to a chord, circle via three points, equal chords and their distance from the centre, the angle subtended by the arc of a circle, and cyclic quadrilaterals will all be covered in this chapter. Chapter 11: Construction

Triangles were mentioned in earlier chapters. Those triangles, on the other hand, were not created with accuracy as those were simply for the sake of your comprehension. In this chapter, students will learn about the fundamentals of construction and practise building triangles. Know how to use a protractor to measure angles, how to draw perpendicular lines, and how to use a compass. If you have a good understanding of building, you might find this chapter intriguing. Chapter 12: Heron’s formula

You already know what squares, triangles, rectangles, and quadrilaterals are from the earlier chapters. You're familiar with perimeter and area calculations. Chapter 14: Statistics

Students will learn about data collecting, data presentation, visually depicting data, and central tendency measurement in this chapter. Chapter 15: Probability

Students will learn about the idea of probability and its experimental method in this chapter. Probability is defined as the degree of uncertainty in any given situation.
