Odisha DET Counseling 2023-24

The Directorate of Engineering and Technology conducts the Diploma Entrance Test on the state level for the admission of students in various diploma courses offered by well-recognized government and private colleges. The exam conducting body has set up various eligibility guidelines for conducting the examination peacefully. After the successful conduct of exams and the declaration of ranks of the candidates, the Odisha DET counseling session begins. Although the final dates for Odisha DET counseling 2022have not been declared yet, it is expected that the sessions may start from the last week of June 2022. 

Important Points for Counseling

The counseling for all the courses is conducted after the official declaration of results of the entrance exam. Odisha DET counseling session is broadly divided into two major steps:

1. Verification of Documents

2. Allotment of Seats

All the documents of the selected candidates are verified at the designated center only. The seat allotment in respective colleges is based on the basis of the candidate’s overall performance, which is further confirmed by the payment of a certain amount of fee on the spot. 

Counseling Schedule

Odisha DET counseling 2022 is yet to be declared by officials. But you must know that the counseling session begins after the declaration of Odisha DET results. The counseling for different courses will be done separately. Colleges are allotted to the selected candidates on the basis of availability of seats in different courses and colleges. The first step of Odisha DET counseling is the verification of documents followed by the allotment of seats in different colleges. 

Counseling Procedure

The selected candidates are called for counseling on the scheduled date and time given by the authorities, probably in the month of June. It is mandatory for all the selected candidates to be present at the time of counseling appointed to him/her; otherwise, the admission of the candidate will be canceled officially. 

It is mandatory for all the selected candidates to be present at the given center for counseling. After the verification of documents in the first step, each candidate will be allotted a suitable seat according to his/her rank in the Odisha DET exam. 

Finally, the candidates are required to pay the desired amount of admission fee in the college in order to confirm their seats. The failure of fee deposition can lead to the cancellation of the admission of the respective candidate. 

Documents Required for Counseling

To maintain the transparency and avoid the chances of fraud, the candidates are required to carry the original copy of some important documents for verification. You must always have these documents at hand during the entire admission process, as it might be required time and again throughout. The list is as follows:

1. High school passing certificates

2. Odisha DET admit card

3. Community certificate (if applicable)

4. Any valid identity proof of the candidate: Adhar Card, Pan Card, etc.

5. Candidate’s Registration Number allotted at the time of application submission.

6. Candidate’s passport sized colored photographs (carry at least 4)

7. Candidate’s score card and Rank card issued online by officials.

8. Candidate’s seat allotment letter or a print out of result declared on the official website

9. Domicile certificate of the candidate (if any).

10. Provisional Admission letter 

11. Annual income certificate

12. Transfer Certificate, also known as Migration certificate 

13. Candidate’s fee deposit receipt

It is always advised for each candidate to keep an extra copy of all the above-mentioned certificates and documents for a hassle-free admission. All the copies must be self-attested.
