An Overview of Odisha DET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Odisha Diploma Eligibility Test is a state-level examination conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education and Training. This entrance test is for the admission of students in various diploma courses, which leads to access to both private and government colleges for diploma courses. Odisha DET eligibility criteria vary accordingly as per the choice, of course, by the applicants. Reservation provided to specific categories also plays a vital role in the same. 


Eligibility Criteria for Odisha DET, 2022

All the applicants must make sure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria for the course they are choosing. The eligibility criteria for all the courses offered is mentioned below:

  1. Eligibility criteria for diploma in Engineering/Technology

  • Qualified Exam – HSC or 10th level exam from a recognized board

  • Qualified Subjects – Candidate should have passed HSC or 10th standard exams with Mathematics, English and Science as mandatory subjects

  • Marks – The candidate must have scored an aggregate of 35% marks as well as at least 30% in each subject of qualifying examination.

  • Age Criteria – If the candidate wishes to apply for a diploma course in engineering that includes Mining and drilling, he/she must be at least 16 years old otherwise a 14 year candidate can also apply in the course that won't include a specialization in mining and drilling.

 

  1. Diploma in Pharmacy 

  • Qualified Exam - 10+2 from CHSE, Odisha.

  • Qualified Subjects – 10+2 with Mathematics/biology, Physics, and Chemistry approved by PCI.

  • Average Marks – An aggregate of 35% marks along with at least 30% in each subject.

 

  1. Diploma in Film or TV Courses

  • Qualified Exam – 10+2 from science stream from any recognized board approved by CHSE, Odisha.

  • Average Marks – A minimum of 35% marks in qualifying examination.

  • Age Criteria – The general category candidate must be between 16-28 years old for applying for this course. Please note that a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit is given to the candidates of SC/ST category. So, for SC/ST candidates the age limit is 16 to 31 years.

 

  1. Lateral Entry Diploma in Engineering/Technology

  • Minimum Qualification – 10+2 qualified with science stream from a recognized board or its equivalent examination with PCM along with vocational course in any Engineering Trade.

  • Average Marks – Aggregate at least 35% marks in all qualifying examinations.

  • Age Limit – Minimum age: 14 years, Upper age – No bar.

 

Main Factors Affecting Eligibility Criteria 

There are few major factors that decide the Odisha DET exam eligibility criteria. This eligibility criteria remains unchanged every year and is followed strictly by the examination conducting body.  

  1. Qualifying Exam – The candidate must have qualified his/her 10th and well 10+2 education from a recognized board.

  2. Qualifying Subjects – For 10th standard candidates’ mathematics, science, and English are mandatory subjects. 12th standard candidates must have passed their 10+2 science stream. 

  3. Average Marks – The aggregate scored of the candidate must be at least 35% while 30% in each qualifying subject 

  4. Reservation – there are various seats reserved for ST/SC/PT/ female candidates that play a vital role in the Odisha DET exam eligibility criteria 2022.
